On Parental Duty and How Parents Let Their Children Risk Chastity

Blessed Claude de la Colombière
On Parental Duty and How Parents Let Their Children Risk Chastity
"What are you doing at home if you do not busy yourselves in the upbringing of your children? It is the only thing you have to do. It is in this that God wishes you to serve Him. It is for this that He has established Christian marriage. It is of this that He will demand an account of you. You have amassed property for them. Is this what God expects of you? 'Come now,' He will say to you on the day of judgment, 'give me an account of that soul that I have confided to you. What has become of it? That was your field, the vineyard which the Lord had given you to cultivate;' To what degree of holiness have you led them? With what principles have you inspired them? Are they good? Do they fear God? Are they instructed in our mysteries? Some will have no answer to make, for they will not know what to make of these questions."

I watched a very disturbing piece on O'Reilly last week where a group of teens wanted to have a babies. One young teen said that 'baby showers looks like so much fun.' Where are their parents????

Do these teens understand about dirty diapers, lack of sleep, lack of a social life..that's right if there is a BIG party going on..YOU will have to stay home..You have a baby remember?!

Where are their mothers and fathers..sleeping? Beggars belief!

Peace, JOY & Love to you Esther:)

This is an epidemic problem in our day... And the cause of disastrous results for the souls of our young people and our society, in general. Our Lady of Fatima gave us the warning... I wish the world had heeded it.

Oh goodness! It's like a fad or something.

Lisa, it's not too late for us to turn to the mother of God for help.

We are in a culture of extremes. Teens are either told to hate babies and have abortions or go ahead and be irresponsible-babies are fun! Where's the middle ground?

Its so true that parents are clueless these days-how about getting rid of the TV? We got rid of it a few years ago, and its the best decision we ever made!

CF, I would love to get rid of our set but we do use it mostly to watch EWTN and DVD shows and movies.
I agree with you about the extremes. Remember that so-called pact those teen girls about all getting pregnant at the same time?
