Sister Lucia's Monthly Novena to Our Lady of Fatima

Sister Lucia's Monthly Novena to
Our Lady of Fatima

On the 4th day of every month, Sister Lucia would pray a special Novena to Our Lady of Fatima in anticipation of the 13th day. The novena included the Memorare and three Hail Marys.

This month the Novena begins on the FirstSaturday, June 4,  which is also the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We hope you will begin praying the Novena every month!  Your First Saturday devotion also consoles Our Lady's heart and helps bring graces for salvation to those most in need of God's mercy.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

3 Hail Marys...Amen

Catholic Academy Posthumously Awards Its Highest Honor To EWTN’s Mother Angelica

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – The Catholic Academy of Communication Professionals posthumously honored EWTN Foundress Mother Mary Angelica, P.C.P.A., with its President’s Medallion Thursday night, June 2, during the annual Gabriel Awards gala at the Catholic Media Conference in St. Louis, Mo. EWTN Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael P. Warsaw accepted the award, the Academy’s highest membership honor, in recognition of Mother’s lifetime achievements and contributions to Catholic communications.

Warsaw thanked the Academy members for honoring Mother Angelica and told the audience that he had once asked Mother what she thought her legacy and the legacy of EWTN would be.

“She said her legacy, and the legacy of the Network, would not be what had been done, but how it had been done – by relying totally and completely on the Providence of God,” recalled Warsaw. "So I would encourage everyone, particularly those in Catholic media, to follow Mother’s example of relying upon God’s Providence in your own lives as you work to spread the Gospel.”

The Catholic Academy of Communication Professionals is an organization of broadcasters, communications directors, public relations personnel, and other professionals involved in using media to serve the Church. The Academy honored Mother Angelica in 1984 with its Personal Achievement Award for her efforts in founding EWTN.

Thought for Today - Futility in Worrying About the Future

Why do we worry about the future?

If we trusted in God as we are supposed to do, there would be need to worry.

There are three things that can happen:

1.  He will remove the problem;

2.  He will help us bear whatever problems or pain He permits to happen.

3.  If the problem is not removed, let us rest assure something good will come out of that suffering.

Whatever happens in the future is really God's will and it is our duty to trust in Him.

Thought for the Day - Be Joyful

We all have troubles and it is easy to feel sad or troubled by our problems and worries.  We also have been blessed by God in many ways even if we don't realize it.  Therefore, we should remember to think of our blessings whenever our problems get us down.  This simple exercise will lead to us to becoming more joyful and more grateful.

"I always find a way of being happy." - Saint Therese of Lisieux

Committing to Praying for the Successful Journey of the Pilgrim Statue to Hawaii

Hawaii will be privileged to have the traveling Fatima statue come back to our beautiful islands.  Details to follow once things are finalized.  In anticipation of this visit, we need to reach as many people as possible to spread the urgent message of Fatima.  Please join the World Apostolate of Fatima Hawaii Division in praying the following prayer from today, May 31, 2016 until February 4th, 2017.

O my Jesus, for the successful journey of Our Lady of Fatima's pilgrim statue to Hawaii, I accept and bear with submission whatever crosses God permits in my life today, for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary. My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You; I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You. (Recite three Hail Marys)
