Desecration of the Holy Eucharist

This morning at Mass our priest seemed troubled. During his homily he shared with us that someone had found pieces of the Consecrated Host(s) in the Church the day before. Father mentioned that an incident like this occurring in his church frightened him, He proceeded to explain that Consecrated Hosts are used at black masses where Satan is worshiped.
He cautioned us to be vigilant and to report back if we caught anyone defiling the Holy Eucharist.
The incident has stayed on my mind all day. It has troubled me more than I thought it would even considering the gravity of the sacrilege. It troubles me because almost all the same people attend the same morning Mass. Did one of them receive Holy Communion for nefarious purposes? I started to wonder who could have done such an apparently evil act? I tried to think of a more innocent reason the Consecrated Host could have been on the ground...maybe a child did it accidentally?
No matter the circumstances, there is no logical reason that the Consecrated Host should be on the floor of the Church. Those pieces of Consecrated Host (and I assume by what Father told us that they were in fact consecrated), is the living flesh of our Lord Jesus Christ! Do we all really believe in the Real Presence?
- Think of the baby John the Baptist, while still in his mother's womb, recognized the living Son of God, and leaped in his mother womb, as Mary approached Elizabeth;
- Think of twelve year old Saint Tarcisius who on his way to bring Holy Communion to imprisoned Christians, was surrounded by a mob of boys curious to see what the Christian "Mysteries" were that he was carrying, brutally attacked him and left him for dead. Yet, he was able to protect the Holy Eucharist from any defilement or desecration.
- Think of the little Chinese girl who returned to the desecrated Church night after night to consume the Consecrated Hosts that had been savagely thrown on the ground by the Communists. She continued to do so until she was caught and killed.
If these young children understand and believe in the Real Presence, why don't we all?
Or, did in fact the individual who committed this vile act, believe in the Real Presence yet took it for an evil agenda? That is the thought that is most troubling.
Let this be a lesson to for all of us who take the Sacrifice of the Mass for granted; who receive Holy Communion like it was just another ordinary thing.
I am not sharing this incident here because I want to start a debate about receiving Holy Communion on the tongue versus the hand. If we truly understood what the real presence was, no matter how we received Holy Communion, we would receive it in the most reverent way we possibly could.
Please join me in praying the following Act of Reparation for similar incidents that must be occurring in other parts.
Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
O Jesus, divine Savior, deign to cast a look of mercy upon Your children, who assemble in the same spirit of faith, reparation, and love, and come to deplore their own infidelities, and those of all poor sinners, their brethren.
May we touch Your divine Heart by the unanimous and solemn promises we are about to make and obtain mercy for ourselves, for the world, and for all who are so unhappy as not to love You. We all promise that for the future:
For the forgetfulness and ingratitude of men, *(We will console you O Lord)
For the way You are deserted in Your holy tabernacle,
For the crimes of sinners,
For the hatred of the impious,
For the blasphemies uttered against You,
For the sacrileges that profane Your Sacrament of Love,
For the outrages against Your divinity,
For the injuries of which You are the adorable Victim,
For the coldness of the greater part of your children,
For the contempt of your loving invitation,
For the infidelity of those who called themselves Your friends,
For the abuse of Your grace,
For our own unfaithfulness,
For the incomprehensible hardness of our hearts,
For our long delay in loving You,
For our tepidity in Your holy service,
For Your bitter sadness at the loss of souls,
For Your long waiting at the door of our hearts,
For the heartless scorn that grieves You,
For Your loving sighs,
For Your loving tears,
For Your loving imprisonment,
For Your loving death,
* We will console you, 0 Lord
Let us pray
0 Jesus! divine Savior, from whose Heart comes forth this bitter complaint, "I looked for one that would comfort me, and I found none," graciously accept the feeble consolation we offer You, and aid us so powerfully by your grace, that we may, for the time to come, shun more and more all that can displease You, and prove ourselves in everything, and everywhere, and forever Your most faithful and devoted servants. We ask it through Your Sacred Heart, O Lord, who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit one God, world without end. Amen.

Mary and Obama?: Help protest desecration of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Icon in Bend, Oregon
I think the references to Obama as a savior, should stop. He is not our savior. Jesus Christ is.

Bill Donohue Addresses Eucharist Desecration
October 7, 2008I just did.
EUCHARIST DESECRATED ON YouTube
Under the name fsmdude, a Canadian man, Dominique, has posted over 40 videos on YouTube desecrating the Eucharist. Catholic League president Bill Donohue responds as follows:
“On September 29, I wrote to YouTube CEO Chad Hurley asking him to take down these offensive videos. I left a phone message for him on October 3, but he refuses to respond. Accordingly, I have posted my own video on YouTube calling attention to this matter.
“It was a professor from the University of Minnesota, Morris campus, Paul Z. Myers, who started the war on the Eucharist this past summer by intentionally desecrating a consecrated Host. Because Myers committed this act off-campus, the University did nothing about it. The latest copycat, however, has violated YouTube’s own ‘Community Guidelines.’ YouTube makes it clear that it does not ‘permit hate speech,’ defined as ‘speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion….’ It also says it ‘is not a shock site.’ Now if desecrating what Catholics believe to be the Body and Blood of Christ does not constitute hate speech, as well as expression designed to shock, nothing does.
“In August, YouTube took down a video of a teenager who urinated on the Holocaust memorial in Rhodes, Greece. That was not only the right moral choice, it was consistent with its own strictures. Catholics deserve the same sensitivity, and that is why we are asking YouTube to take down these unconscionable videos. It is not only right morally, it is in compliance with its own guidelines.”

Catholic protests listing of reputed relics for auction on eBay
ARTICLE
"The internet auction site eBay is listing for sale the reputed relics of Catholic saints, Newsweek reports, though a layman has taken up the task of preventing the site’s sale of both sacred items and the bodily remains of holy men and women.
Recently, alleged strands of hair from the head of St. Therese of Liseux were put up for auction with bids starting at $40. Another auction opening at $49.99 purported to be a fragment of bone from St. Philomena, a 13-year-old girl who is said to have been flogged, drowned, and beheaded for refusing marriage to the Roman Emperor Diocletian.
A “splendid, rare, antique” reliquary containing bone fragments from six different saints from a dealer at Belgium was posted for auction at an opening price of $625.
If the relics are genuine, their sale would violate Catholic canon law, which states, "it is absolutely forbidden to sell sacred relics..."

Litany of Reparation
Gefroh Family Rosary Picture Collection. Thanks to Sue for sharing this one.
Litany of Reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which Christ is offended by those who receive the Blessed Sacrament unworthily and for the healing of all the members of the Mystical Body of Christ.
Taken from the booklet: Praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet during Adoration for the Sick and the Dying. Pope John Paul II gave his Apostolic Blessing to those who pray it during an hour of Adoration.
Christ told St. Faustina, that those who pray the chaplet for those in their hour of dying, 'I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the Just Judge but as the Merciful Savior.' (1541).
Please pass this on to those who are sick that they may be healed and the dying that they will receive salvation through Divine Mercy.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
God, the Father of Mercy, response; have mercy on us.
God, the Son, Mediator between God and man, *
God, the Holy Spirit, Enlightener of hearts, *
Holy and undivided Trinity, *
O Sacred Host, Victim of reparation for the sins of the world, *
O Sacred Host, immolated on the altar for us and by us, *
O Sacred Host, despised and neglected, *
O Sacred Host, outraged by the blasphemies of men, *
O Sacred Host, neglected and abandoned in Your temples, *
Be merciful unto us, spare us O Lord,
Be merciful unto us, hear us O Lord,
For so many unworthy Communions, we offer You our
reparation O Lord,
For the irreverence of Christians, have mercy on us,
For the continual blasphemies of the impious, *
For the infamous discourses made in Your holy temples, *
For the crimes of sinners, *
For the sacrileges which profane Your sacrament of Love, *
For the coldness of Your children, *
For their contempt of Your loving invitations, *
For the infidelity of those who call themselves Your friends, *
For the abuse of Your grace, *
For our unfaithfulness, *
For our delay in loving You, *
For our tepidity in Your holy service,*
For Your bitter sadness at the loss of souls, *
For Your long waiting at the door of our hearts, *
For Your loving sighs, *
For Your loving tears, *
For Your loving imprisonment, *
For Your loving death, *
That You spare us, that You hear us, we sinners beseech You, hear us,
That You will make known Your love for us in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, have mercy on us,
That You will vouchsafe to accept our reparation made in the spirit of humility, have mercy on us,
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, spare us O Lord,
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, hear us O Lord,
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us O Lord.
Optional conclusion:
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair or become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will which is love and mercy itself (950).
Recite the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
Conclusion prayer:
O Blood and water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of mercy for us, we trust in You! (say three times.)

Sacrilegious Reporting and the Confessional
By now, almost everyone must be aware of the unscrupulous reporting by an Italian magazine. Click here for story. The following is what Fr. Robert Fox posted on his blog:
..."What those reporters did, was highly unethical and no less then a sacrilegious abuse of the Sacrament of Reconciliation [Confession] instituted by Jesus Christ. To go into the Confessional and pretend to be penitents with supposed sins one had committed - all of which was a lie and a mockery of the Church, an attempt to divide
priests and Pope - to get a sensational story to sell copy of their publication - was an objective sacrilegious act whether those reporters and their magazine executives had the faith or not.
With such dishonest and sacrilegious endeavors - how can readers trust that the answers the priests were supposed to have given - were honestly represented and reported??????????? With that many reporters accepting such immoral and sacrilegious assignments - how could anyone trust in the future what those reporters would write???? If they would not stop at sacrilege regarding one of Christ’s Sacraments - how can any one trust their reporting????????"
