Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe

St. Maximilian Kolbe

Today, the Catholic blog world will be alive with posts on one of the Church's favorite saints and heroes, St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe.

I would like to share with you two of my past posts:

St. Maximilian Kolbe, pray for us.

I'd love to know if you have any suggested reading on this great man.

I have to tell you about this book
http://www.amazon.com/Stolen-Childhood-Saga-Polish-Children/dp/0595168639/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_cart_1
by Fr. Lucjan Krolikowski. Lucjan was a seminary student when Fr. Kolbe was teaching. He STILL gives talks about this Saint and his love of Mary. Rarely does he tell his own facinating story. He willdefinitly become a saint also.

Barbara, I actually recommended Kolbe and the Kommandant
http://www.saintmaxkolbe.com/
as well as one about him published by Pauline Books and Media. I can't remember the name offhand.

Thanks Mary. I will look into getting that book. It's amazing how you answered Barbara's question w/o even planning it :-)

Hi there; thanks for your post about this amazing Saint who did so much more good in his life than his dying for another prisoner at Auschwitz, which is the most known fact about him. Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate have an interview with Fr. Krolikowski, about St Maximilian and his own life http://airmaria.com/2010/08/16/video-variety-83-i-lived-with-st-maximilian-kolbe-for-three-years-part-1/
