Deacons for Life

Deacons for Life

The Family Spirit - Mother Angelica

Mother Angelica

...Married life has become to many a necessary burden, but a burden that is shed very easily. Faithfulness has become merely a biblical term no longer relevant or possible in an age of modern enlightenment. Adultery and fornication have passed from unfaithfulness and sin to an inability to love only one person and the fulfilment of one's basic needs. Children who are to be the fruit of love are considered mere accidents, financial burdens, consumers of the world's food supply, an infringement on personal freedom to utilize untapped talents which are destined to be forever buried. This, alas, is the thinking of the minority to the dismay of the disheartened majority...

...The Family is at the root of all society and the Family Spirit is a special quality that feeds the Family with vigor and vitality. When that spirit is present, there is a desire to cling together in time of crisis, to sacrifice in time of need and strength to face the demands of communal living....

On True Freedom...

Sacred Heart
Never as today has man spoken about freedom, peace, rights and dignity, about the emancipation of countries, of women, of the youth. And yet, we are inundated by the filth of pornography, by immodest dress and degrading speech.

Look at the destruction of the social order starting with the family, look at the killing of innocent babies in their mother's bosoms, see the imminent dangers menacing our societies by terrorism and religious fanaticism.

Satan promises freedom and brings about destruction of everything man holds dear.

The model of the Sacred Heart raises mankind from this sad condition and teaches, like an open book, lessons of abnegation, of respect for life, of charity, of the beauty of chastity, of obedience, of sacrifice, and of so many other things of which the modern mind seems to have forgotten, even the name by which they are called.

Planned Parenthood Fraudulent Practices

Received from Michael Hichborn of American Life League
Dear Pro-Life Friends,

This edition of the American Life League Report is a special report on how Planned Parenthood defrauded the government of California, looting over $5 million tax dollars. The is one of the most important reports we have issued to date because this evidence could lead to a national investigation. That's why, in addition to posting this ALL Report, I'm asking you to promote our call to your readers to go to our webpage STOPP and fill out the online form to contact the Attorneys General in their own states, requesting an investigation into Planned Parenthood's possible fraud. We've exposed Planned Parenthood in California. If we can expose it's fraud in other states, we can push even harder to cut it's public funding for good...

Thank you so much for your help, and as always, thanks for everything you do for the babies!
--Michael

Fr. Patrick Peyton - The Rosary

Our Lady
Holy Cross Family Ministries

"Two years before my ordination, I was stricken with a severe attack of tuberculosis. In that infirmary, I reached the depths of discouragement and hopelessness. But it was there too that I really found Mary. In my darkest hour, I tuned to her for help. She responded with love. I recovered, returned to the seminary and was ordained."

"Thanks to the family that always prayed the Rosary, I had come to know who Mary was and that Jesus Christ, her Son, had entrusted me to her love and care. I asked her with all my heart and soul to pray to her Son for my cure."

In 1945, the Mutual Broadcasting System, the largest radio network in the United States at that time, made available a half-hour to broadcast the Rosary. This was the opportunity of a lifetime. The program had to be good. It had to prove the Rosary for all its worth. To whom could I turn for help? Naturally, to Our Lady. She came through:
Invite the most famous, loved and revered family to pray the Rosary;
Ask the most famous Hollywood stars to join them;
Have the most influential people in the US Church speak; and
Choose the most fitting day to have the majority of Americans listening eagerly to a religious broadcast.
All of that happened:
The day was Sunday, May 13, 1945: Mother's Day, Fatima Day and a day of thanksgiving for victory in Europe.
Cardinal Spellman of New York was lined up to speak.
The Sullivan family of Iowa, whose five sons had gone to their death together on a battleship that sank in the Pacific, led the Rosary.
Bing Crosby agreed to participate.

The following day, the broadcast was acclaimed as the most touching program of all, and the Family Rosary Crusade was launched. What Bing Crosby did, others would do. Hundreds of them, Pat O'Brien, Loretta Young, Grace Kelly, James Cagney, gave their names, fame, time and talent to glorify the Rosary and dramatize its mysteries on film, on the radio and on television.

Archbishop Chaput - "Little Murders"

In an address delivered on October 17, Archbishop Charles J. Chaput stated that ''Prof. Douglas Kmiec has a strong record of service to the Church and the nation in his past. But I think his activism for Senator Barack Obama, and the work of Democratic-friendly groups like Catholics United and Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, have done a disservice to the Church, confused the natural priorities of Catholic social teaching, undermined the progress pro-lifers have made, and provided an excuse for some Catholics to abandon the abortion issue instead of fighting within their parties and at the ballot box to protect the unborn...''

Comments on Susan G. Komen Foundation's Donations

Unborn
I received an anonymous comment to the following Race for the Cure - Supporters of Planned Parenthood. Since the tone of the comment was angry I didn't approve it. Instead, I forwarded it to my husband and son. My son said I should response to it. But I think he did a fine job of doing that for me.

First the comment:
"shame on you. shame shame shame. I am also a cancer survivor. My sister has had breast cancer. It has almost killed an old girl friend, destroying her life. It has struck many dear friends. We do not have a hissy fit about fighting evil.

MAY YOU FIND PEACE ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE MUST KILL THIS THING THAT SPREADS TERROR AND DEATH AMONG WOMEN. ENABLING IT BECAUSE SOME OF ITS OPPONENTS ARE NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT, WELL I WILL PRAY FOR YOU"
My son's response:
Hi Mommy.

Saving the lives of babies is not an issue of political correctness. It is a moral responsibility for everyone. We have no problem with donating money to support cures for cancer as long as our money does not go to help the killing of innocents. It is absolutely twisted that the money we donate to save lives is being used to end them. Abortions result in a dead baby and causes a host of problems, physical and psychological, for the mother. The money we donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help women ends up hurting them.

This can be a response to this comment. Please correct it for factual errors and add your own touch to it.

I love you.
Love,
Joey.

I am happy that my teen son gets it.
