Honoring our Beautiful Mother - More Photos Public Rosary

Venny Villapando is part of a husband and wife team that filmed two documentaries on Saint Damien during the time of Father Damien's canonization. He was also the photographer at the public rosary held in Honolulu on October 13th. He graciously and generously shared the photos and videos he took that day. I had the pleasure of going through all of them today. It would be hard to share all of them in this one blog post. But I will share all the ones that I think you would like.

Annual Rosary Rally in the Park

Thanks to a lovely and dedicated woman, Josephine and of course, her many assistants, we were blessed to have another wonderful afternoon of Rosary in the Park.  This is a local annual event to commemorate Our Lady of Fatima's last apparition on October 13, 1917.  This year was extra special as our dear Bishop Larry joined the faithful in honoring our beautiful blessed mother!  It was also the first time a shower of blessing (rain) fell while the sun was still shining.  It reminded me of what the people must have experienced the day the sun danced.

The gathering started with our bishop leading us in prayer.  Then that was followed by the procession around the park.  Our Lady's statue was crowned with a beautiful Haku lei and roses.  We then chanted the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00 p.m. or a little past that time.  We prayed the Luminous Mysteries...mostly in the rain and then we renewed our total Consecration (St. Louis de Montfort).  The bishop gave his final blessing and we all left...very happy participants in a very joyful event.

The following are some photos from the Rosary gathering.

The Message of Our Lady of Fatima

At the same Marian conference where Bishop Silva spoke of Our Lady of Guadalupe, two Polish priests who write for a Polish Catholic magazine Love One Another also gave talks. Love One Another has been translated into English and many other languages. Father Andrew said "Our Lady is the editor of Love One Another magazine."  This magazine is not only beautiful, but very informative.

Father Mieczysław Piotrowski TChr ("Fr. Mitch") and Fr. Andrew spoke of Our Lady of Fatima and the magazine, respectively. It made the heart feel joy because they spoke in the same endearing accent that our beloved Blessed John Paul II spoke when speaking English.

On Ali Agca's question to Pope John Paul when he visited him in Prison:

"How did you manage to escape with your life? I know that I aimed well. I know that the shots I fired were lethal, and yet they did not kill you. Why? What is this Fatima that everyone is talking about?"

"“It was a real miracle, and I know who to thank for it. One hand held the gun, another guided the bullet” – Pope John Paul II

The Assassination Attempt on the Holy Father

There are three parts to the secret of Fatima:

1. Vision of Hell - Hell is a consequence of man's rejection of God.
2. Avoiding hell.
3. Modern crisis of faith and morals and a call to conversion.
Father Mitch - Holy Communion

On Sin and Hell:

"Man's most serious obstacle to God is sin."

"The greatest tragedy is remaining in a state of sin. It is slavery."

The unrepentant souls; the demons hate and blame God and thus become a part of hell.

"However, no one is predestine to perish."

Sister Faustina was permitted to visit hell to warn about its existence.

"Most in hell are souls who did not believe in the existence of hell."

"Hell is not the result of an unjust punishment."

"We need to tell people the truth, hell exists."

"If hell is trivialized and treated as untrue, it will lead us to eternal damnation."

"Sin enslaves and destroys what is most important in a person's soul - the ability to love."

"It creates selfishness."

"We see this in our modern world with the culture of death and the slavery of addictions"

"Most souls end up in hell because of the sins of impurity". - Blessed Jacinta

Why Does Evil Seem so Attractive?

Father Mitch explained that mortal sins are egotistical, selfish and enslave us in sin.

Why Eternal Damnation?

2011 May Crowning - Photos

A big mahalo to the Legion of Mary at Sacred Heart Church, for another beautiful May Crowning.  It started with a solo Marian hymn by our very talented parochial vicar.  We then had a procession with candles, flowers, banner and the crowns Two very special members of our parish community crowned our Lady.  We prayed the Rosary in English, Korean, and Chuukese.  We sang beautiful Marian Hymns and it ended with our consecrating ourselves to Mary.   What a wonderful way to honor our blessed Mother during the month dedicated to her and for Mother's Day.

Both our priests were present.

The Holy Rosary Prayers in Hawaiian

Our Lady of Fatima statue at a Public Rosary Event

Someone from Real Men Pray the Rosary requested the Rosary prayers in Samoan. Well, that gave me the idea to post the Holy Rosary prayers in the beautiful Hawaiian language. Mahalo for the idea! BTW, the link provided below has some prayers in Samoan, etc.  Unfortunately, neither the Fatima Prayer nor the Luminous Mysteries have been yet translated into Hawaiian. NOTE:  I do not speak Hawaiian so I cannot vouch for the correct translation.
