Isn't it wonderful!?! Grand news!!! Cathy
That is wonderful news!
Congratulations! How very exciting for Catholic in Hawaii!!!
I think Father Damien is beloved the world over.
I am from Buffalo, NY and have never been to Hawaii, but I feel such joy for all those who will celebrate Fr. Damien's canonization. He has been my hero since I was a teenager, and my whole career as a nurse and missionary has been inspired by his life. I am elated and pray that I can be in Rome for the glorious day. God bless you all in Hawaii!
David, how wonderful that you will be there in person! I unfortunately will be unable to be there. He too was a big hero of mine since I was a young girl.
Artist Dietrich Varez has honored our beloved Kamiano for years.
His popular print, a commemoration of Saint Damien's canonization, is available at www.dvarez.com with a new look honoring our new saint!
I made a note about his canonization today, but wasn't at home to see if there was anything on television concerning this event. For me it is especially heartfelt as I'm from Hawaii (Kauai), but am actually living in Italy now. Thanks for sharing this on your blog!
Innovative, we are well familiar with the artist. My husband owns his shirt and we have his latest Father Damien print. I hope to post on Dietrich Varez very soon.
Rowena, I am sure EWTN will reply it.
