Thousands of Youngsters to Offer Mary a Golden Rose

ST. PAUL, Minnesota, SEPT. 27, 2011 (Zenit.org).- Thousands of children will gather at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, [0.8327759197324415] D.C., next month to offer Our Lady a "Golden Rose" and to pray before the Holy Eucharist.

The youngsters will represent children from 140 nations who will participate Oct. 7 in the 9th annual Worldwide Children's Eucharistic Holy Hour, which will be broadcast live around the world on Eternal [0.5768261964735516] World Television Network (EWTN), and translated for Spanish-speaking countries.

The "Holy Hour unites children around the world before the Blessed Sacrament to console the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus and to pray for the families of the world, a mission entrusted to them by Blessed John Paul II in his Christmas Letter to the World's Children, in 1994, at the close of the International Year of the Family."

Archbishop Gregory Aymond of New Orleans will preside at the main event in the basilica, which is co-sponsored by Children of the Eucharist, the children's program of the World Apostolate of Fatima, and the Holy Childhood Association.

A growing number of dioceses, parishes and schools on every continent are participating in the event every year, according to Connie Schneider, founder and international chairwoman.

She added, "This global Holy Hour gathers our children before the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus to console him, as requested by the Angel of Peace at Fatima, and to pray for our own families and the families of the world."

WORLD APOSTOLATE OF FATIMA, USA
A Pontifical Organization
The National Blue Army Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

World Apostolate of Fatima
National Pilgrim Virgin Statue Tour

Is Underway in Denver
May 1-23, 2010

Our Lady began a 23 day tour of the Archdiocese of Denver, on May 1, 2010

We're all members and/or supporters of the Family of the WAF from Alaska to Florida and California to Maine and all around the world.

We're all also members of the Mystical Body of Christ.

As loving brothers and sisters let's come to the aid of our kindred spirits in the Archdiocese of Denver as they endure difficulties, overcome obstacles and bring graces from above to many during the course of this 23 day tour.

Whatever success they are graced to achieve will benefit all.

Let us all Unite in Prayer for the success of Our Lady's tour:

Let us pray that many souls will come to see her beautiful image and find consolation, comfort, and peace of soul in her presence.

Let us pray that all who come will be touched by grace in a special way.

Let us pray that all who come will be enlightened in mind and moved in heart by the talk Mr. Bill Sockey will deliver.

Let us pray that they may embrace and begin to live the Message of Fatima they will hear, and acquire a desire to learn more about it.

Let us pray that they will recognize the importance and urgency of the Message of Fatima today and feel compelled to share it with others.

Let us pray that they will become active and supportive members of the Family of the WAF.

Please share these sentiments with your relatives, friends and neighbors to get the word out to everyone.

Thank you all for your support of our brothers and sisters in Denver!

His Blessed Mother,
Deacon Robert Ellis

The World Apostolate of Fatima

OLOF

My mom, aunt, sister and I joined several hundreds of fellow Catholics in spending the day with our Lady of Fatima at the Blue Army Shrine in Washington, New Jersey.

What a glorious day it was! New Jersey has been having chilly, windy and rainy weather. But on May 13th, it was a beautiful day for Our Lady's Feast Day.

Upon arrival and a quick lunch, we headed off to Confession. There were many stations for Confessions in English, Spanish, French and Italian. Those who were ready joined in the procession of Our Lady of Fatima while we prayed the 5 Glorious Mysteries.

In the second picture below you can see the huge statue of Our Lady of Fatima atop the main chapel.

Procession

OLOF Huge Statue
The Mass began after a few speakers. It was beautifully and reverently celebrated by Fr. Clement J. Machado, who has appeared on EWTN and concelebrated by many other priests. One priest was from Fr. Benedict Groeschel's order, the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. That is Father Lawrence below during Holy Communion. He was celebrating a year anniversary from the first time he celebrated Mass.

Fr. Lawrence
Benediction followed the celebration of the Holy Mass. The picture below is of Fr. Paul Ruge, the chaplain of the Blue Army Shrine holding the Monstrance during the Benediction.

Benediction
The sad part of the day was when our Lady's statue left the Chapel. We sang her a lovely hymn Farewell Fatima and waved our white hankies as we bid our Lady adieu.

O Virgin of the Rosary
of Fatima dear Lady,
O dearest Queen of Heaven
to save you are most ready.
O Virgin of the Rosary of Fatima dear Lady,
As now we leave your shrine
once more we kneel before thee.

Refrain:
Just one more final prayer
as we leave, O Mother dear!
May our hearts eer ring
with the words that we sing:
Oh Fatima! Farewell!
Dear Mother, Farewell!

Before we leave O Mother
oh, hear our prayer of sorrow,
And save us from all danger
today, tonight, tomorrow.
Before we leave, O Mother
have mercy on our sorrow,
And ever be our guardian,
today, tonight, tomorrow.

O Mother as we leave you
the tears to our eyes springing,
But still our hearts with joy,
your love, your praise are singing.
O Mother as we leave you
our eyes with tears are dimming,
But though we weep at parting
our souls with love are brimming.
Vs 1: Jeremiah Cummings 1814-1866 alt. Vss. 2-3 Anon.

Farewell to Fatima
It was as stated in verse three, a teary time for us. As you can see my mom and the majority of the people there worn blue in honor of our Lady.

Mom waving good-bye

There will be many more posting on the message of Fatima through the World Apostolate of Fatima. If any of you are interested in joining the WAF, please visit their website. Those in Hawaii interested in joining, please contact me directly by email, comment or phone.

Pope Benedict XVI has granted an Apostolic Blessing to all the children of the world who participate in the upcoming:

Fifth Annual Worldwide Children’s Holy Hour Program.

“I am deeply grateful for the many good efforts of the World Apostolate of Fatima and in particular, I think of the many graces that come to so many young people through the Children’s Programs… It is my hope and prayer that each of the children who participate in this Holy Hour will be ambassadors of Jesus Christ to other young people and to the world” Pope Benedict XVI

Most Reverend Robert W. Finn, D.D., Bishop of Kansas City, Saint Joseph, will lead the Children’s Holy Hour, and EWTN will broadcast the event LIVE from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, to over 40 different nations. A Eucharistic and Marian Movement of the Children of the World

Who pray for PEACE in our Families and the World!

(ST. PAUL, MN – August 6, 2007) The World Apostolate of Fatima USA Children’s Program Children of the Eucharist will host its fifth annual Worldwide Children’s Holy Hour at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC, on First Friday, October 5, 2007.

Once again the worldwide event will broadcast Live via the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) at 10:00 AM (EST). Most Reverend Robert William Finn, D.D., of Kansas City ~ St. Joseph, will lead the Children’s Holy Hour of prayer.

You can view Most Reverend Bishop Finn’s LIVE invitation here.

Irish singer Dana will lead the children in their theme song: We are the Children of the World, Answering His Call.

The Children of the Eucharist program invites and encourages bishops, parish pastors, school principals and families around the globe to plan "little pilgrimages" to their local shrines, diocesan cathedrals, parish churches and chapels, as they gather the school children and all the children of the world before the Most Blessed Sacrament, to pray the “World Mission Rosary” for peace in our families and the world.

We are hopeful, that corporations and people of influence and means will come forward and help "Children of the Eucharist" so we can move forward to spiritually benefit all the children of the world.
