Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O most holy Heart of Jesus,
fountain of every blessing,
I adore You, I love You, and
with lively sorrow for my sins I offer You this poor heart of mine.
Make me humble, patient, pure and wholly obedient to Your will.
Grant, good Jesus that I may live in You and for You.
Protect me in the midst of danger.
Comfort me in my afflictions.
Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs,
Your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.
 Amen.

ACT OF REPARATION

O sweet Jesus,
Whose overflowing charity for men is requited by so much forgetfulness, negligence
and contempt,
behold us prostrate before Thy altar eager to repair by a special act of homage
the cruel indifference and injuries, to which Thy loving Heart is everywhere subject.
Mindful alas! That we ourselves have had a share in such great indignities,
which we now deplore from the depths of our hearts,
we humbly ask Thy pardon and declare our readiness to atone by voluntary expiation
not only for our own personal offenses,
but also for the sins of those, who, straying far from the path of salvation,
refuse in their obstinate infidelity to follow Thee, their Shepherd and Leader,
or, renouncing the vows of baptism, have cast off the sweet yoke of Thy Law.
We are now resolved to expiate each and every deplorable outrage committed against Thee;
we are determined to make amends for the manifold offenses against Christian modesty in unbecoming dress and behavior,
for all the foul seduction laid to ensnare the feet of the innocent,
for the frequent violations of Sundays and holidays,
and the shocking blasphemies uttered against Thee and Thy saints.
We wish also to make amends for the insults to which Thy Vicar on earth and
Thy priests are subjected, for the profanation,
by conscious neglect or terrible acts of sacrilege, of the very Sacraments
or Thy Divine Love; and
lastly for the public crimes of nations who resist the rights and teaching authority of the Church which Thou hast founded.
Would, O Divine Jesus, we were able to wash away such abominations with our blood.
We now offer, in reparation for these violations of Thy divine honor,
the satisfaction Thou didst once make to Thy eternal Father on the cross and
which Thou dost continue to renew daily on our altars;
we offer it in union with the acts of atonement of Thy Virgin Mother
and all the Saints and of the pious faithful on earth; and
we sincerely promise to make recompense, as far as we can with the help of Thy grace,
for all neglect of Thy great love and
for the sins we and others have committed in the past.
Henceforth we will live a life of unwavering faith,
of purity of conduct, of perfect observance of the precepts of the gospel and
 especially that of charity.
We promise to the best of our power to prevent others from offending Thee and
to bring as many as possible to follow Thee.
O loving Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our model in reparation, deign to receive the voluntary offering we make of his act of expiation;
and by the crowning gift of perseverance keep us faithful unto death in our duty and
the allegiance we owe to Thee,
so that we may one day come to that happy home,
where Thou with the Father and the Holy Ghost livest and reignest God, world without end.
Amen.

How to pray the Chaplet of the Sacred Heart

Thank you H.L.:

How to pray the Chaplet of the Sacred Heart

This devotion to the Sacred Heart is prayed on the regular Marian Rosary of 59 beads.

On the Crucifix, say the following prayer:

"Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God's love commits me here,
Ever this day be at my side,
To light and guard, to rule and guide."

On the first bead (normally the "Our Father"), say:

"O Eternal Father,
I offer Thee the Blood,
Passion and death of Our Lord Jesus Christ
and the sorrows of Our Blessed Lady
and St. Joseph in reparation for my sins,
in suffrage for the souls in Purgatory,
for the wants of our Holy Church,
and for the conversion of sinners."

On the three beads (normally the "Hail Marys"), say:

"My God, I believe in Thee.
My God, I hope in Thee.
My God, I love Thee with my whole heart,
and for Thy sake I love my neighbor as myself."

On each of the single beads of the 5 decades, (normally an "Our Father"):

"Jesus, meek and humble of heart,
make my heart like unto Thine.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for me."

On the 5 sets of 10 beads (Normally the "Hail Marys"), say:

"Sweetest Heart of Jesus,
I implore, that I may love Thee more and more.
Sweet Heart of Mary, be thou my salvation."

When you have concluded, say

"Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
I give you my heart and soul.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
assist me now and in my last agony.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
may I breathe forth my soul in peace with you."

Daily Indulgenced Aspirations to the Sacred Heart

This holy card was shared by a friend.  It is very efficacious to the soul who offers up these aspirations as often as possible.

Merciful Jesus, I consecrate myself today and always to Thy Most Sacred Heart.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus I implore, that I may ever love Thee more and more.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in Thee.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe in Thy love for me.

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Thy Kingdom Come.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, convert sinners, save the dying, deliver the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

First Friday - Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Sacred Heart of Jesus - Molokai
I apologize for not posting this yesterday. I completely forgot about First Friday yesterday!  This is the first time this has happened!!

(with ecclesiastical permission)

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus,
truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar,
beating with infinite love for mankind
and interceding for us with the Father
at every moment,
with hearts full of loving confidence and trust,
we renew our Act of Consecration to You.

Jesus, we acclaim You as King of Heaven and Earth and especially
as King of our hearts.
Please grant us all the grace
we need to realize this Kingship in our every day lives.
Help us with Your all-powerful grace to overcome all
temptations of the world,
the flesh and the devil so that we may be
always faithful to the consecration we are renewing at this moment.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, we love You.
Help us to grow in this love and to bring
others to know and to love You also,
so that You may reign in our hearts.

Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Novena Begins Today

We can pray this novena for so many worthy intentions: Conversion of sinners, especially in our own families; for priests that they stay close to Jesus' Most Sacred Heart, thereby being able to withstand the continuous assaults by the devil; for the persecuted church...these are just a few suggestions.

Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

I. O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you." Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of...... (here name your request)
Our Father....Hail Mary....Glory Be to the Father....Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

II. O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." Behold, in your name, I ask the Father for the grace of.......(here name your request) Our Father...Hail Mary....Glory Be To the Father....Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

III. O my Jesus, you have said: "Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away." Encouraged by your infallible words I now ask for the grace of.....(here name your request) Our Father....Hail Mary....Glory Be to the Father...Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of you, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your tender Mother and ours.
Say the Hail, Holy Queen and add: St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.

Sacred Heart of Jesus - Prayer to Jesus, Our True Friend

Jesus, You are my only true friend.

You share my burdens; You take them upon Yourself; You alone know how to turn them to my advantage. You listen to me kindly when I tell you my troubles and You never fail to lighten them.

I find You at all times and in all places; You never leave me, and if I am obliged to change my abode, I will always find You wherever I go.

You are never annoyed at listening to me; You never cease to help me. If I love You, I am sure of being loved in return. You have nothing to gain from my possessions and You do not make Yourself poor in sharing Yours with me.

No matter how miserable I may be, You will never cease to be my friend for the sake of someone else more noble, more worthy, or even more holy; and death itself- which separates us from ll other friends - will serve only to reunite us forever. Old age or misfortune will not cause You to abandon me; on the contrary, You will never be closer to me, n or will I enjoy Your presence more, than when all seems to go against me.

You tolerate my faults with admirable patience; even my infidelities and ungratefulness never hurt You to such a degree that You are not always ready to come to me, if I so desire it.

O Jesus, grant that I may die praising You, that I may die loving You, that I may die for the love of You.

Amen.

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Jesus in the Eucharist,
immortal King of ages,
Who from the humble throne of the Tabernacle would conquer the world,
O Jesus,
do not permit that any of us who are close to Thy Sacred Heart,
the never-failing source of living water, should perish of thirst.
Do not permit the members of our household to fall fainting on the road of life because they refuse to nourish themselves with Thee,
the Bread sent down from Heaven for earth's exiles.

Because Thou art Jesus,
cross the abyss that separates them from Thee;
pay no attention to their ignorance;
win them in spite of their weakness,
heeding only Thy pity and the prayer of faith and love that,
unknown to them, we offer Thee at Thy merciful request. O Jesus, save them, by Thy grace!...

By the Immaculate Queen, let them drink the chalice of thy love!...

Prayer of Saint Gertrude to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, fountain of eternal life, Your Heart is a glowing furnace of Love. You are my refuge and my sanctuary. O my adorable and loving Savior, consume my heart with the burning fire with which Yours is aflamed. Pour down on my soul those graces which flow from Your love. Let my heart be united with Yours. Let my will be conformed to Yours in all things. May Your Will be the rule of all my desires and actions. Amen.
