God of mercy, we bless You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who ministered to all who come to Him. Give Your strength to Name the person or people who have addictions Your servant(s), bound by the chains of addiction. Enfold him/her in Your love and restore him/her to the freedom of God's children. Lord, look with compassion on all those who have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of Your unfailing mercy, and strengthen them in the work of recovery. To those who care for them, grant patient understanding and a love that perseveres. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen for his beatification: "Lord, in your servant, Matt Talbot you have given us a wonderful example of triumph over addiction, of devotion to duty, and of lifelong reverence of the Holy Sacrament. May his life of prayer and penance give us courage to take up our crosses and follow in the footsteps of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Father, if it be your will that your beloved servant should be glorified by your Church, make known by your heavenly favours the power he enjoys in your sight. We ask this through the same Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen read more on his life:

I'm an alcoholic myself and I twice lost my son over my addiction. I have lost most of my family due to them not wanting to speak to me and I have never met either my niece or nephew. I have not worked in two years and I only earn enough to pay rent in low-income. I can't seem to finish rehab though I've been there twice. I dropped out of college twice. I lived in a halfway house and a homeless shelter. Seems every time I get "done" with all that, I go back "out". My boyfriend is about to dump me. I can't seem to keep a sponsor. I try to go to church but I keep losing the faith. Please, someone pray for me. I'm not sure what prayer to say here and I am just in need of as much prayer as possible. Please. I don't want my "bottom" to keep getting worse. I just pray that someone reads this and prays for me or something. My e-mail is everythingtold32101@yahoo.com

Dear anonymous. I came to this sight for another reason but your struggle made such an impression. I will remember you in my prayers. Please don't give up on your quest for peace and sobriety. You are loved and cared about and there are many hearts which hold you in their thoughts and prayers. Keep the faith, one day at time.

My sister has cancer, her fiance says he can't handle her sickness, and goes out drinking. I pray he will stop and give her the support and comfort she needs. Please pray for both of them. Thank you
