This beautiful painting of Blessed Father Damien praying, was painted by an artist on Molokai. Her name is Linda Johnston. She graciously forwarded a sampling to me this morning with permission to share it on this blog.

I am a professional artist who has lived on Molokai for 20 years. I was inspired to paint a portrait of Blessed Damien in the prime of his life and work. I studied his life and photos of him for 3 years before completing the painting...
