Young Edith Stein
St. TB

"I had given up practising my Jewish religion when I was a 14-year-old girl and did not begin to feel Jewish again until I had returned to God".

"My longing for truth was a single prayer".

"As for what concerns our relations with our fellow men, the anguish in our neighbor's soul must break all precept. All that we do is a means to an end, but love is an end in itself, because God is love".

"Who can sleep on the night that God became man?"

Great photos and quotes!
St. Teresa Benedicta has long been one of my favorite saints. I, too, would like to hear about the tape, Jackie. She was a holy, brilliant, beautiful, feminine woman in the true sense of the word who defended women's rights.

Thanks for your post, Esther!

St. Edith Stein is on our family litany of saints.
Have you ever heart the wonderful Alice von Hildebrand talk about her. Deitrich knew Edith-I think they met at university not long before she was arrested.

She is mentioned in Alice's wonderful little book "The Privilage of Being a Woman."
