I've seen a most of these but am interested in seeing "Schindler's List". Has anyone seen this and if so could you tell me what you thought? I've heard it is very depressing though it must be good to get on this list...
I've seen 'Schindler's List' - well, about half of it, before I fell asleep. Sorry, I'm sure it's very worthy, and the man himself was very brave, but I didn't think it was a particularly good film.
One of the things that interests me is how many of the films chosen by the USCCB are English or European, when a lot of people would normally think of the film industry as being predominantly American.
First of all, I saw Schindler's List - ALL of it and I thought it was fabulous, much the way (although not to say they are in the same league at all) The Passion was fabulous. Troubling, heartrending, hard to watch, but GREAT!
AND, just to pat myself on the back this morning (and we all need that sometimes, don't we?) I just started watching Ben-Hur this morning. I have it DVR'd but have never seen it so today, over my cereal before I started work, I watched a little bit. I'll watch more as time permits!
PB: Schindler's List is a very good movie but quite disturbing in content as you can imagine and the gratuitous sex scene(s).
NH: I didn't know that about the USCCB. What my family finds perplexing is what they deem to be morally offensive. Some movies that I thought were good were rated O and then again some pretty junky stuff was okay.
