Our Lady of Lourdes Prayers

First Prayer

Blessed, Immaculate Virgin, by your
appearance in the Grotto of Lourdes,
many have been cured of their
infirmities, both spiritual and physical.

Mother of Mercy, healer of the sick,
comforter of the afflicted, you know my
needs and my sufferings.
Look upon me with compassion.
I come to you with confidence in your maternal intercession.

Obtain for me, from your Divine Son,

O loving Mother, this special request...

(Mention your needs here)

Our Lady of Lourdes, prayer for me.

Amen.

Oblate Missions

Second Prayer

O glorious Mother of God,
so powerful under your special title of
Our Lady of Lourdes,
to you we raise our hearts and hands
to implore your powerful intercession
in obtaining from the gracious Heart of Jesus all the helps and graces
necessary for our spiritual and temporal welfare
and for the special favor we so earnestly seek.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.

Saint Bernadette, pray for us.

Our Lady of LourdesFeast Day February 11
O ever Immaculate Virgin, Mother of Mercy, Health of the Sick, Refuge of Sinners, Comfort to the Afflicted,
you know my wants, my troubles, my sufferings. Deign to cast upon me a look of mercy. By appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes, you were pleased to make it  a privileged sanctuary, whence you dispense your favors; and already many sufferers have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal.
I come, therefore, with the most unbounded confidence to implore your maternal intercession. Obtain,  O loving Mother, the granting of my requests.  (mention your intentions here)
Through gratitude for favors, I will endeavor to imitate your virtues that I may one day share your glory.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.)

Two prayers to prepare the universal celebration of Our Lady of Lourdes, on February 11

Mary, you showed yourself to Bernadette
in the crevice of the rock.
In the cold and grey of winter,
you brought the warmth, light and beauty
of your presence,

In the often obscure depths of our lives,
in the depth of the world where evil is so powerful,
bring hope,
return our confidence!

You are the Immaculate Conception,
come to our aid, sinners that we are.
Give us the humility to have a change of heart,
the courage to do penance.
Teach us to pray for all people.

Guide us to the source of true life.
Make us pilgrims going forward with your Church,
whet our appetite for the Eucharist,
the bread for the journey, the bread of life.

The Spirit brought about wonders in you, O Mary :
by his power, he has placed you near the Father,
in the glory of your eternal Son.
Look with kindness
on our miserable bodies and hearts.
Shine forth for us, like a gentle light,
at the hour of our death.

Together with Bernadette, we pray to you, O Mary,
as your poor children.
May we enter, like her, into the spirit of the Beatitudes.
Then, we will be able, here below,
begin to know the joy of the Kingdom of Heaven
and sing together with you :
Magnificent !

Glory to you, Virgin Mary,
blessed servant of the Lord,
Mother of God,
dwelling place of the Holy Spirit!

Amen.

Our Lady of Lourdes

Prayer

O my Mother,
O immaculate,
O pure,
O holy,
O spotless virgin Mary!
if we only knew thee,
how many hearts would cease to be wicked,
how many souls viewing the dazzling splendors of thy graces would hasten to walk in thy footsteps.
Then,
O dear Mother,
show thyself to the world,
lost in the darkness of sin.
O resplendent Morning Star,
remove from our eyes the veil which sin has placed there;
open them to the divine light,
and may its heavenly influence blot out our stains,
enliven our actions,
and increase in our hearts a pure and ardent love for Jesus,
thy Divine Son, by the sweet and delightful tears of holy penance.
O Mary, the immaculate heart was Jesus' earthly home;
deign to make my heart also His home.
O Mary, be by me when Jesus comes to judge me.
May my last words in this life and my first in the next be "Jesus, my savior; and Mary, my Mother."

Our Lady of Lourdes, heal us, for he conversion of sinners.

"Few indeed are those who...are present as eyewitnesses of one of those rare but terribly real occurrences in which the omnipotence of God strikes through the shadows of time and space to bind up and heal the broken bodies of men.  But the evidence of these visitations is indisputable.  During the last century it has pleased God so to visit His people time after time at a remote grotto in the French foothills of the Pyrénées, where the Blessed Virgin Mother of God appeared in 1858 to little Bernadette Soubirous.  God of course chooses His own time and places and occasions for the miraculous, but His power shines forth  most frequently where His Mother is honored and venerated."

Prayer and Quotes by St. Bernadette

O My God, I beg You, by Your loneliness,
not that You may spare me afflictions,
but that You may not abandon me in it.
When I encounter afflication,
teach me to see You in it as my
sole comforter.
Let alliction strengthn my faith,
fortify my heope,
and purify my love.
Grant me the grace to see Your hand in my affliction, and
to desire no other comforter but You.
Amen.
