Victory for Choose Life License Plates!!!

Following came from Russ Amerling of Choose Life, Inc. and Aloha Pregnancy Care and Counseling Center. I think we all should say a special prayer for Steve Holck who went personally paid for many fees in order to save this pro-life license plate. Hawaii was in danger of being the first state to lose the Choose Life license plate. Mahalo nui loa Steve!!

There are now 234 Choose Life License Plates on the roads in Hawaii. Much ALOHA to all who answered our call of urgency, with a special Aloha to APCCC Founder Steve Holck who personally paid for the first fees of close to a hundred pro-lifers. Please remember that the battle for Life is far from over and we urge people to continue to purchase the Choose Life plates. We will be making this an ongoing program, and anyone who cannot afford the first fee for the plates of $30.50, can email steve@alohapregnancy.com and a check will be mailed to you.

We also need your continued vehicle donations to Christian Family Charities, "Donate Any Vehicle" program. You may find additional iformation on alohapregnacy.com. Watch for ongoing alerts on our website, with information on our upcoming banquet and Tshirt program.

Please continue to support the Aloha Pregnancy Center with prayers and remember to tell your friends that volunteers are still sorely needed, especially nurses.

ALL PRAISE TO GOD THE FATHER AND HIS SON, JESUS THE CHRIST.
Garret Hashimoto
President, APCCC

ALERT: Hawaii Choose Life License Plates May No Longer Be Available

These specialized license plates which is currently available to Hawaii drivers, may soon no longer be available. Why? The reason is that the City and County of Honolulu requires a certain number of registered cars to have this license plate. Right now, Hawaii needs 58 more motorists to register their cars. 58 is such a small number. If you do not have the Choose Life plates, PLEASE consider getting them for your car.

From Alana at the Aloha Pregnancy Care & Counseling Center
:
At any Satellite City Hall DMV locations

Outer Island DMV's as well

Cost is $30.50 because you get a new 5 Digit plate. Then when renewing your plates yearly there will be an extra $25.00 added and the donation will be sent to APCCC. We have to have 150 to keep the Licence Plate Program going. We would like to see well more than 150 through out the island. If anyone has any questions please have them contact me directly at 234-7233.

These photos were taken at the 7am Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Honolulu. Deacon Ronald Nelson of Hope Alive, is responsible for Father Pavone coming and speaking to the parishioners of Sacred Heart.

I found Father Pavone to be a very approachable and friendly priest. I introduced myself and he graciously went with me to meet my family.

Father Pavone gave a strong homily on today's Gospel. He called us to care for one another. He emphasized the pro-life movement, Priests for Life in specific, not only cares about the unborn and defenseless baby, but also the mother and the father. He encouraged us to reach out to these women in need who may not be aware that help (financially, spiritually, emotionally, etc.) is available to women.

It is a real blessing that Father Pavone came to speak to all in Hawaii. He has a few more engagements coming up like a open-forum this afternoon at 1:30 pm at Sacred Heart Church and then a Hawaii Right to Life fundraiser dinner and talk at the Hale Koa this evening. Father is also the guest speaker at the 40 Days for Life Honolulu on Tuesday.

Please try to attend these upcoming events and bring your friends and family.

The Marchers

We had the biggest crowd yet at yesterday's Hawaii March for Life. My family and I have been attending for over 10 years now so I can personally attest to the growth. Joey was responsible for taking the photos for Hawaii Right to Life so there aren't any family photos available for me to share with you.

The young people were very enthusiastic in shouting out for life! If there were any counter-protestors present this year, these young pro-lifers probably drowned them out.

It's a shame that our local media chose to ignore the rally and march for life.

More photos will be posted later at the Hawaii Right to Life blog.

Bishop Larry Silva Addresses Pro-Life Activities for the Diocese of Honolulu

Bishop Silva
From the Bishop:

January 7, 2009

Dear friends, As Catholics, we believe in the fundamental right to life for all, from conception until a natural death. We transform this conviction into a commitment to defend the unborn, and to guard the dignity of our poor, disabled and elderly.

This year, 2009, our obligation to protect the right to life leads the Diocese of Honolulu to concentrate on four public efforts. These will be coordinated by the Hawaii Catholic Conference and our Respect Life Office, headed by our Chancellor, Deacon Walter Yoshimitsu. Here is what we have planned:

Portrait of the Son as a Young Pro-lifer

Joey at March for Life

I found this photo today. You can see it's at least 9 years old by the looks of Joey. He has accompanied my husband and me on virtually all of the Hawaii March for Life events since he was 5 years old. Children are never to young to stand up for life.
