And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Esther, I love this bible passage. I refer to it many times.
Peter as weak as he was in denying Christ not once but three times was later given strenght and made strong by the Lord. So much so that Peter became the rock upon which Christ built his church.
Amazing isn't it. All is possible with God.
Ed, I think we needed a saint like Peter to give us all hope to grow in sanctity.
