This week's artist is Giovanni Bellini.
Giovanni Bellini (c. 1430 – 1516) was an Italian Renaissance painter, probably the best known of the Bellini family of Venetian painters. His father was Jacopo Bellini, his brother was Gentile Bellini, and his brother-in-law was Andrea Mantegna. He is considered to have revolutionized Venetian painting, moving it towards a more sensuous and colouristic style. Through the use of clear, slow-drying oil paints, Giovanni created deep, rich tints and detailed shadings. His sumptuous coloring and fluent, atmospheric landscapes had a great effect on the Venetian painting school, especially on his pupils Giorgione and Titian.Source Wikipedia

Esther,
This artist is a great choice for Fine Art Friday.
I love all the painting but in particular the Mary Magdalena. It's simplicity is beautiful, yet you know it is a true masterpiece.
I am sorry that we did not get to meet while we were in Hononlulu. It is a great regret of mine. Sickness seemed to have the upper hand. The weather was beautiful and you live in a gorgeous place- so lovely.
I am glad to be home again. And thank you for prayers for a safe journey home. That meant alot to me.
God Bless and Have a great weekend!
Kathy

What a great choice in artists for Fine Art Friday.
I liked all the paintings that you selected but was especially drawn to Mary Magdalene. It has a simplicity that is beautiful, yet you know that it is a masterpiece.
Thanks for your prayers for a safe trip home from Hawaii. I am sorry that we didn't get to meet. Sickness seemed to rule the week.
Have a Great Weekend.

Esther, these are wonderful works of Art!
Thanks Kathy. I had to make sure that the Mary Magdalena was actually painted by Bellini because it seemed different from the other ones.
I am sorry we didn't get a chance to meet in person too. I am glad we did speak. I hope you are all feeling better now.
Thanks Tracy!
