Fighting Back - Attacks on the Priesthood
There should be no doubt left in our minds that the devil has declared war on the Church and is putting all his efforts into destroying her by the ruination of her priests.
Will he succeed? Of course not! But that does not mean we should just let things happen and hope for the best. We must fight back!
The laity can do one of two things:
1. Give up on the Church because we feel we have been betrayed by the fallen priests;
-or-
2. Fight back with all our might, fortified by the strength God will give us and in turn declare war against evil.
We must constantly pray for these fine, yet frail men of God and offer many, many sacrifices on their behalf.
Our priests MUST:
In all humility realize that they will be at the mercy of these continued satanic assaults unless:
1. Get on their knees in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament as often as they can during the day, beginning as soon as the awake. This must be their first priority.
2. Become true sons of Mary by permitting her to guide and protect them by asking for her constant guidance and protection, especially through her most Holy Rosary.
They should totally consecrate themselves to Our Lady and clothe themselves with her Brown Scapular.

3. Be obedient to our holy Father, the Pope, the holy magisterium and their immediate authority, their bishop.

The devil's grip on our priests will be loosened if we fight back together, both priests and laity.
Lastly, until our bishops and pastors lead the congregation in praying the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel, we can do it privately at the end of the Holy Mass.
PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen..

Amen. This is what needs to be done. I am so sickened by the posts ripping a certain priest to shreds. Why aren't they lifting him in prayer before the throne of Mercy? Do some folks actually think that they themselves are incapable of falling?
ReplyDelete"Help your brother up for goodness sake! is what I feel like shouting (pleading?). We can help our priests so so much through our prayers and if they have fallen and are incapable of rising on their own...then this is when we carry them and place them in in the loving arms of our Savior. He died for all of us and will not ignore our plea.
Thank you for this post, Esther. You always come from an angle of charity and may our Lord bless you for this.
Mary, thank you so much for saying what I was feeling.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Mary!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this Esther! You've said it so well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne. I know you'd feel the same way.
ReplyDeleteYes, some fall, and when they do we should help them and pray for them and ask God to guide us in supporting them. Some, however, are deliberately attacked from the outside. Our priest is in that position now. Our amazing parish did not turn its back or walk away but rather rose up as one body in support and is still doing that -- last night, we had a fundraising dinner to pay for the legal defense that the diocese will not (even though the bishop's own counsel has determined the accusation unbased and the criminal, yes, recently released from prison for theft, simply someone who thought the Catholic Church would be an easy target for more money). Our priest came to the dinner -- not sure that would have made the bishop happy, but the "authorities" have learned that the flock and its shepherd here in our small community are inseparable, literally. Our priest has asked only for prayer; the prayer support, he says, is what keeps him functioning and fighting. A final thought: if the good priest is overcome, so are we all!
ReplyDeleteAmazing Elizabeth! What a caring and supporting parish you belong to.
