lol I sent you an email. I don't understand things like Facebook, but I worry a little about too much intrusiveness. Do I really want evefyone knowing just about everything about me? I dont think so.
I will stick with blogger and I still find that challenging lol.
I spend probably a grand total of 5 minutes per day on Facebook. I ignore all requests, groups, etc.
Now blogging is another story, so I am cutting back to three posts max per week. I have over 300 news sites and blogs in my Google Reader so I can really, really chew up the time....
My first thought was about our poor Conference! The Registration is on line, the ads are on blogs, Facebook, and Seton online. How will I get enough people to make it break even?
So if you stay on line do a good deed! Spread the Good News about good things and push the bad out of mind. Online is where talking about the bad things makes them easier to find in web searches--- ignoring them decreases the links.
(I know we still have to fight evil-- just differently for a while)
I think like anything that brings one into contact with many people, it has to be used with caution and moderation. I have the FB privacy settings carefully set so that only close friends and family can see my family photos and what I'm doing. It is a great way to alert people to events and good articles, and in that way I find it helpful. I have also found it has has helped me to connect with other devout blogging mothers, and other Catholic writers, more so than visiting blogs did. But like anything it has it's dark side. I have no qualms about blocking people who turn out to be unsavory or unbalanced. And one must protect oneself, especially from lunatics who wear the mask of piety.....
Marie, I am behind in emails but look forward to reading it. Thank you.
I share what I want people to know which is a small bit. You don't really know who is out there.
Love to you too Marie,
Adrienne, wow, that's it?
Mary B., I agree that the internet, blogs, network sites can be used for good...like we do. I don't think busy moms like us have time to waste looking for trouble :-)
Marian, it's like a MySpace but more adults are getting involved.
