The Third Sorrowful Mystery - Jesus is crowned with thorns and ridiculed
Jesus accepted the external sign of a crown of thorns in order to show us that not only by sins of the flesh is God offended, but also by sins of the intellect.
In our own day, what thorn could be more painful than the obstinacy of some Catholics who promote the crime of abortion in defiance of the law of God and the constant teaching of the Church? They refuse to render consent to God's revealed truth. In their blindness, they dare to "play God".
God is Pro-life. Advocacy of abortion cannot be reconciled with faith. Abortion can only be the result of an atheistic mentality.
Let us pray through the merits of Jesus Christ who, "Though He was in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped at: (Phil. 2:6), that those who support abortion may be granted a conversion of mind and heart. May all believers be united in promoting the right o life of all human beings.

Esther, thank you for including that picture!
ReplyDeleteI had given it a lot of thought one day several years ago: whether my children should see pictures of aborted children or not. I prayed about it and was not surprised when the Holy Spirit led me to go to Fr. Pavone's website. There in front of my screen, stood my 5 children in bewilderment and unbelief as they looked at the horrid pictures before them. They all cried. We all cried and then we prayed. My children particularly prayed for those mothers who aborted those babies, for mommies NOT to abort their babies, and they praised and thank God for the gift of life. They praised and thank God they are alive! They also thanked God for me and my husband for raising them and for not aborting them... There was a great sense of peace in all of us that day and a deep sense of appreciation for life.
God of life, we praise you always!
Easter, thank you for sharing your experience with us. It is so brutal what happens to these innocents and we must be witnesses and continue to defend them.
ReplyDeleteEsther ~
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to thank you for the picture...so many people would stop to think twice about posting such a graphic image, but to me, it's sometimes the only way to "bring home the point" to others, y'know?
A dear friend of mine recently sent a pro-life (graphic) video to her family members who are pro-abortion and told them, "If you can support it, you can watch it!"
It ruffled quite a few feathers, but she is ok with it, lol. I applaud her! :)
Jenn, good for her! That really took guts to do.
