And this brings us to the new question for tongue receivers - in front of or behind the piercing. That happened to my husband as he was distributing communion at mass one day and it sparked quite a conversation in the sacristry after mass.
I am always afraid of not doing this properly after receiving this way for 7 or more years! I think I may have touched Father with my mouth a few times and that I am annoying him by not opening up wide enough but also trying to refrain from showing him my dental work!
I would have died, but I suppose, like a dentist who tells you to open wider, he just trying to avoid the Host being dropped. That would be the ultimate worst!

ReplyDeleteLOL. I've glad to say I've never come across that problem.

ReplyDeletewfEsther,
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to locate your e-mail at the moment so I'm leaving a comment here.
Mahalo! I'm deeply grateful!
Diana, I actually had a priest stop me and say something like "Young lady, please open your mouth wider and stick out your tongue". I was mortified.
ReplyDeleteFr. Daren, it was our pleasure!
