Our Lady of Akita's Third Message on October 13, 1973

Our Lady of Fatima at the 8th annual Rosary in the Park, Honolulu

The message of Our Lady of Akita to Sister Agnes Sasagawa is very similar to the Fatima message.

The following is particularly timely as our bishops are gathered together at the Synod to discuss marriage and the family as well as the ongoing worldwide persecution of Christians and threats to religious freedom in the United States.
"As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity.  It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before.  Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful.  The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead.  The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by my Son.  Each day, recite the prayers of the Rosary.  With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and the priests.
The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, and bishops against bishops.  The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres.  The Church and altars will be vandalized.  The Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demons will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.  The demon will rage especially against souls consecrated to God.  The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness.  If sins increase in number and gravity there will no longer be pardon for them."

  1. Sigh. When will we ever learn? Fatima, St. Faustina, Akita - must we learn everything the hard way?

Thanks for posting this, Esther. My mom got a word of knowledge 5 years ago about this particular decade we are in right now and I'm realizing she was correct. She said the second half of this decade would be very difficult for everyone. "Unbearable" was the word she used (unless people turned back to God).

  2. Oh wow, Mary! I wonder if it is only a small percentage of the world Christians who recognize the danger we are in if we don't return to God wholeheartedly.

  3. I don't know, Esther. But they will recognize it very soon if the word of knowledge she got has any substance to it (and I have to say that she hasn't been wrong yet). She told me that the period between 2009/2010 - 2020 would see a great increase in disasters. The beginning would be gradual with smaller"events" and these events would grow in intensity as the decade progressed. This includes events in the geophysical area, political arena, financially, and internationally. There would be more trouble from the Middle East and another financial collapse too. Her exact words were "at the beginning small events interspersed with relatively peaceful periods...people wouldn't even connect them. But as the decade went on the events would increase in intensity and get
closer together. Towards the end of the decade things will be almost unbearable."
She said life would get very hard here in the U.S. as well as around the world. If people would pray and convert many things
would be mitigated or would not happen. If people don't convert things would get steadily worse. I questioned her on her use of the word
"unbearable" but she said unbearable was the right word. Like "a woman in labor" she said - at the beginning bearable towards the end
very hard. "If" people don't turn back to God.

On a brighter note she said it wasn't "the end"...lol. She didn't tell us to scare us, just so that we will prepare our hearts well.

She has no computer access so I was a bit surprised to see how closely her words lined up with some of the things I've read online. Well, I guess we'll find out one way or another. I'm hoping she's wrong of course!

  4. Mary, I wish I could talk to you in person. What a great topic for conversation. It is a sad thing when people are so busy trying to survive, they no longer seem to be living. It is tragic seeing how the homeless are increasing in numbers worldwide, the elderly have to go back to work, terrorists seem to be gaining ground, and on and on. Yet, we have a simple solution...return to God. ( Pray your rosary...go to Mass but even the sacredness of Sundays are no longer observed. I don't know, but Jonah and the people of Nineveh listened and our threats appear to be greater. BTW, how exactly did your mom get this info?

  5. Through a "word of knowledge" during prayer - it's a charism. She's had many over the years, most of them regarding family matters but not all.

Yes, we have a simple solution but sadly very few seem to realize this.

  6. That is what I thought but I thought I'd better clarify. I am in awe! Thanks Mary.
