Trust EWTN for the Real Story on 2011’s Historic ‘March for Life/Walk for Life’

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – With a virtual secular news blackout each year on the “March for Life/Walk for Life,” anyone who wants the real story on the “March for Life/Walk for Life” has learned to trust one Network – the only news outlet that has brought them the truth about these massive yet peaceful pro-life rallies in Washington, D.C. and (now) San Francisco for more than 20 years – EWTN Global Catholic Network. (Find EWTN at

This year, EWTN kicks off its live coast to coast coverage at 1 p.m. ET, Sat., Jan. 22 with the “Walk for Life West Coast.” (Encore at 9:30 a.m. ET, Jan. 23). The event -- anchored in-studio by “Bookmark” Host Doug Keck and EWTN Chaplain Fr. Joseph and on location in San Francisco by “Life on the Rock” Hosts Fr. Mark and Doug Barry – will include the pro-life speakers, youthful marchers, pro-life rally, and the peaceful demonstration for life that you have come to expect – plus a few wonderful surprises!

On the East Coast, live coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. ET, Sun., Jan. 23 with the Solemn Vigil Mass for Life at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. This year, Galveston/Houston Cardinal Daniel DiNardo will serve as celebrant and homilist.

Then, stay tuned for live and complete coverage of the 2011 March for Life, the largest and most important pro-life event in the world! As always, the March for Life begins with the Mass for Life at 7:30 a.m. ET, Mon., Jan. 24. Military Services Archbishop Timothy Broglio will serve as celebrant and homilist.

The March itself begins at 11 a.m. ET, Mon., Jan. 24 (with encores at 11 p.m. ET, Jan. 24 and 2 p.m. ET, Sat., Jan. 29). Keck and Fr. Joseph remain in-studio anchors while “Catholic Connection” and “All Things Girl” Host Teresa Tomeo and Series Host Damon Owens will provide complete on the ground coverage from Wash., D.C. From the Rally to the March, don’t miss this dynamic duo’s always inspiring interviews with special guests as well as people on the street, plus panel discussions, and speeches by pro-lifers around the country.

To help viewers prepare for these historic marches, EWTN will televise the powerful “Morning of Prayerful Remembrance and Intercession” from 9 a.m. ET, to noon ET, Sat., Jan. 15 live from St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. In addition to intercessory prayers and the Mass, viewers will be inspired to continue this important fight as they listen to personal testimonies from those affected by abortion.
